Behind the Words

Since I was a child it has been clear that writing is my calling. My 8th-grade teacher said I was one of the best writers she's ever met. She said this not because I understood the difference between "you're" and "your" (I'm surprised many people still don't). Instead, it was because of my ability to convey meaning, emotion, and persuasiveness in the written word.

I attribute this to a mother who has always supported me and my voice. Growing up gay in a conservative neighbourhood meant I needed to be able to speak loud and proud. As a teenager, I was able to convince people LGBT lives mattered all through my unyielding devotion to writing.

When I moved to Vancouver to get my screenwriting diploma at Vancouver Film School, I kept that manifesto in my writing. I learned how to move my teachers to tears, make an entire class cry with laughter, and pitch my work to network executives. These skills would follow me into academia as I finished my degree in Professional Communications at Royal Roads University in 2021.

Overall, I mix the technical with the magical when working with clients. I display a deep knowledge and curiosity of SEO, copywriting, and digital marketing of all kinds. But what keeps people reading is my love for storytelling. It has allowed me great success with every client I have been fortunate enough to work with. Now the question remains:
